Audrey J. Blonden, 80, a 46-year of Cashmere, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 26, 1990, at the Cashmere Convalescent Center.

She was born Oct. 27, 1910, in Friday Harbor, to Joseph and Mary Alice (Guard) Jensen. She up and received her early education in Friday Harbor, graduating high school there.

She graduated from Bellingham Normal school and taught in Sequim to years.

She married Milton M. Blonden June 14, 1931, in Friday Harbor. The couple lived in Custer and Nooksack, where her husband taught school for many years. The couple moved to Cashmere September 1944. They owned operated Blonden's Hardware for several years. After the business was sold she worked as a bookkeeper at Blue Star Growers.

She was a member and very active in the Cashmere United Church. She served as a trustee and was a delegate for church conferences. Blonden was a member of the Mary Morley Circle. She was a 52-year member and past Noble of the Grand of Purity Chapter 164 of Rebekahs, a member of the Cashmere Garden Club and the Women's Guild Club. She worked for many years as a hostess at the Chelan County Historical Museum in Cashmere.

Survivors include two sons, Duane Blonden of Cashmere and Dick Blonden of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

A service of commemoration took place Jan. 5 at the Cashmere United Methodist Church. The Rev. Glenn Kennedy officiated. Jean Meyer was organist. Vocalist Maury Rogers sang "Ave Maria" and "The Lord's Prayer." Memorials can be made to the Alpine Boys' Ranch or to the Cashmere United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. The Braun Funeral Home in Cashmere had charge of arrangements.
