NAVAJO STATION — Funeral services for Florence Joe Cleveland, 90, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at Ganado Presbyterian Church, Ganado. Associate Pastor, Melvin Nez will officiate. Burial will be in Cornfields Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at Ganado Presbyterian Church.

Cleveland died Sat. Feb. 6, 2010, in Flagstaff. She was born Aug. 8, 1920, in fort Defiance, into the Bitter Water People clan for the Red House People clan.

Cleveland was a weaver, rancher and homemaker. She assisted her late husband in Navajo traditional ceremonies. She was always full of laughter and enjoyed being with relatives.

Survivors include her sons, Eli Joe of Payson, Fred Cleveland of Albuquerque, Hardy Cleveland of Ganado, Morgan Cleveland Sr. of Ganado; daughters, Gloria Nez of Navajo Station, Victoria C. Jones of Cornfields, Arlene Davis of Navajo Station, Modesta Cleveland of Ganado; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Cleveland was preceded in death by her husband, Camillios C. Cleveland; parents, Sam and Bah Joe; brothers, Sam Joe Begay, Jack B. Wilson, Richard Yazzie, Lee Joe; sisters, Sadie S. Vann, Cora Nez, Winifred W. Cleveland; son, Lafel S. Vann; one grandson.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Cornfields Chapter House following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
