Anchorage resident DOMINIC J.R. JOHNSON, 22, died Sept. 9, 2001, at Providence Alaska Medical Center from an accidental gunshot wound. A visitation was at Kehl's Forest Lawn Chapel, 11621 Old Seward Highway. The funeral was held with the Rev. Craig Johnston of the Anchorage Christian Center officiating. Burial was at the Anchorage Memorial Park.

He was born Aug. 29, 1979, in Anchorage and was a lifelong Alaskan. His family wrote: ''He was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and a member of the Anchorage Christian Center. ''He really loved fishing, his family and Jesus. He had a very giving heart, could always make you laugh if you were down and would help anyone in need. He loved people and had lots of friends that considered him family. Growing up he loved to go fishing and the outdoors. After learning about God's love and salvation through Jesus Christ, he led others to the saving knowledge of eternal life and would want everyone to join him in heaven someday.''
