Curtis Family Cemetery is located at 117 Sterling Drive, Hendersonville, TN, on the Curtis Farm. Emmaline was buried at the Old Church of Christ Cemetery, Sumner County, Hendersonville, TN. When the church relocated her remains were removed to the family farm cemetery. No headstone exist, only a field stone marks her grave. Emmaline was the daughter of Giles C. Jones and Zelphia Phelps, wife of James McDonald Curtis, married December 31, 1857. To this union 14 children were born. Namely Thomas Isaiah, Tolbert Fanning, Milton Rufus, Samuel Houston, Grant B, Barbara Allen, Albert Ross, Sarah Jane, Eugenia, Nancy, Sophronia, Trigg, John Buford and James McDonald, Jr., Curtis. Two other unmarked graves exist in this cemetery. They are believe to be two small children.
