Dorothy J. Carter, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Decatur, Georgia with the Rev. Bob Williamson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave., Decatur GA 30030. Mrs. Carter was born in Hancock County, Georgia to the late Elmer T. and Mary Twilley Jones. She retired from the DeKalb County School System and was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur, Georgia. She was a devoted and loving, wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Donald Carter of Decatur, and son, Michael Carter of Decatur.
