Mable Anneil Jones Hale, 98, of Marietta passed away March 25, 2017. Anneil was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Ellen Hale of Marietta; three grandchildren, Matthew and Heather Hale of Marietta, GA, Sarah and Graham Wells of Clarkston, GA, and Anna and Larry Rolen of Dublin, Ireland; two great-grandchildren, Ellie Hale and Griffin Wells; a brother, Bobby Jones of Powder Springs, GA; and a sister, Dot Lawson of
Collinsville, TX. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Captain Bartley Edward Hale, Sr., her parents Esther and Andrew (Buck) Jones of Fair Oaks, GA, and her siblings Clyde Jones, Bill Jones, and Betty Joe Thiele. Anneil was born in Suwanee, GA and grew up in Cobb County, graduating from Powder Springs High School and Greenleaf Business School. Anneil was a lifetime member of Olive Springs Baptist Church, the Gleaner’s Sunday school class, and participated in Merry Makers. During WWII, Anneil worked for Bell Aircraft and the Anniston Army Depot in Alabama where she met her husband. Following WWII, Anneil and Bartley were stationed at various army bases in the southeast before resettling in Marietta in 1952. Anneil worked for and retired from the Cobb County Board of Education as a secretary at Milford Elementary and the main office. Following the passing of her husband, Anneil traveled to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and many other locations. The family will kindly accept flowers or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 28 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Marietta with visitation beforehand at 10:00 am.
