Fay Bernice Jones Hinch, 86, died on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006

She was born (26 July 1920) in the Cedar Grove community to the late Rufus Scott and Hettie Lou Johnson Jones. She was a lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Chattanooga Valley. She was a homemaker and also had worked at Crystal Springs Bleachery and Ace Vending. She enjoyed singing in a family gospel quartet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Wheeler Hinch; sisters, Daphne Jones, Virginia Tudor; brothers, J.D. Jones, Willis Jones Sr., Maurice Jones, Dan Jones and Bernard Jones.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol and Lamar Abbott, Brenda and Larry Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Vicky Hinch; brother, Paul Jones, all of Chickamauga; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the chapel with the Rev. Charles McElhaney officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends after noon Saturday until the service.
