ROSSVILLE, GA - Kathryn Joyce Jones, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.

She longed to be reunited with her husband of 53 years, Poole Jones. They are happy together again in heaven.

Mrs. Jones was a native of Benton, Tenn., but had lived most of her life in the Rossville area.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was a member of Rossville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Bridge Builders.

Following her retirement from Borg Textiles, she volunteered at Hutcheson Medical Center and visited shut-ins on a regular basis.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. Nicholson Sr. and Ava Jacobs Nicholson; twin-sister, Lois Nicholson; sister, Betty Nicholson; brothers, Billy Nicholson, Henry C. (Maxine) Nicholson Jr. and Robert A. (Betty Ann) Nicholson.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Byron Ball, of Ringgold; brother, Charles E. (Jackie) Nicholson, of Marietta, Ga.; granddaughters, Kristy L. Hall (Dale Johnson), of Rossville, and Natalie K. Wade, of Nashville, Tenn.; step-granddaughter, Sherri D. (Richard) Pirtle, Harrison, Tenn.; step-grandson, Richard A. (Diane) Ball, Cincinnati, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Andrew Hall and Lyndsey Pritchett, Kalee and Mason Pirtle; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. David Tullock and the Rev. Paul Williams officiating.

Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
