Rossville, GA - Marie Jones, 102, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday September 22, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, James D. Jones; mother and father; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine (Doug) Hayes and Barbara (Sonney) Tolley; grandchildren, Steve (Debbie) Hayes, Terry (Jay) Floyd, Patti (Wayne) Funk, David (Sharlet) Tolley; 7 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joy in life was her faith in God. She touched many lives through her wisdom and counsel.
She was a faithful member of South Rossville Baptist Church for 85 years having taught Sunday School for 65 of these years.
Marie was an employee of Peerless Woolen Mills and later worked at The Personality Shop in the Children's Department for many years.
She was an elegant and graceful lady. She loved gardening, reading, and family gatherings.
Marie would be so honored if you so desire to make a donation in her memory to her church she loved so much, South Rossville Baptist Church 101 E. Peachtree St. Rossville, GA 30741.
Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday September 25, 2012 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Daniel paying tribute to celebrate her life and her home going.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, with nieces and nephews serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to express their appreciation to NHC of Fort Oglethorpe, GA for their love and tender care.
