Kenneth E. Jordan, 82, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
He was born in Echo, Oregon on November 16, 1929 to John and Margaret (Bradley) Jordan. He went to school all his life in Echo and graduated in 1947.
He proudly joined the Air Force in 1948 and was stationed in California, Guam, Idaho, Alaska, and New Mexico. He spent 20 years in the military and retired in 1968 as a Senior Master Sergeant.
On September 5, 1950 he married Jeanette Ellis in Walla Walla, Washington and they recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. They had three sons, Robert, Steve, and Ron.
In 1968 his family moved to Boise and he worked for 25 years with Wells Fargo Armored Services and Loomis Fargo and Company. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge for 30 years and also a member of the Eagle‘s Lodge. He was an active member of Amity United Methodist Church and served his church for over 30 years.
Ken was a kind and generous man. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and shared that love with his sons. He really enjoyed his annual deer hunting trip with his buddies: Bill, Rick, and son, Ron. He enjoyed golf and watching sports and old cowboy movies on TV.
He was quite a character and had a fun sense of humor. He was known as Mr. Magoo to his family and the Elk's Lodge awarded him Grump of the Year. He was a "diamond in the rough" and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three sons: Robert (Penny), of Great Falls, MT, Steve, of Midvale, UT, and Ron (Linda), of Meridian; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Friday, November 25th at Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview, Boise, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26th at Amity United Methodist Church, 4464 S. Maple Grove, Boise, at 3:00 p.m.
Burial will be held on Monday, November 28th at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Amity United Methodist Church, Elk's Lodge, or charity of your choice.
