Ronald E. Jordan
May 10, 1932 to March 8, 2012

Ron went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2012. He was met at the pearly gates by his lovely wife of 28 years, Thelma Jordan.

Ron was born and raised in Burley, Idaho. His favorite pet was a faithful black cocker spaniel, named Colleen. When he was 15, he worked alongside his father at the brickyard in Burley.

Ron went to serve his country in the Air Force at the age of 18. He was stationed in Germany for 3 years. Upon his return to the United States, he moved to Boise where he met his first wife, Patsy Earl. They had four children: Jack Jordan, Julie Bresson, Randy Jordan and Sheri Lylia.

In 1977, he met and married his second wife, Thelma Smith. They made a home in Meridian, Idaho and he became stepfather to her five children: Eve Jacobs, Robert Smith, Dian Roberson, Warren Smith and Amanda Johnson.

Ron was a member of AA and had 37 years of sobriety. He was also an active member of Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church in Meridian, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Jordan; his father, Stewart Jordan; and five siblings.

He is survived by his sister, Jan Oldfield, of Roseburg, OR; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ron was employed by Hood Corporation as a pipeline construction worker and did landscaping on the side. Whether at work in construction, as a landscaper or as a dad, his greatest gift was friendship and love. He never met anyone he could not talk with. So long for now, Ron, we will meet again.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Valley View Retirement Center, all of his caregivers at Homewatch Caregivers, and the wonderful hospice team at Horizon Home Health and Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Ronald Jordan's name to Angels Anonymous, c/o Horizon Home Health and Hospice, 900 N. Linder, Meridian, Idaho 83642.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at Alsip's and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S., Nampa, Idaho on Wednesday, March 14th at 10:00 a.m.
