Fannie Joyner SUFFOLK - Fannie Anne Florine Thacker Joyner, 89, passed away Jan. 8, 2011. A native of Smithfield, Va., she was the daughter of the late Herbert Marsben Thacker and Mirian Batten Thacker. She was also predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Elliott "Joe" Wyatt Joyner. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Christian Church. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Anne Joyner Willis and Edward Willis of Lexington, Va., Judy Joyner Griffin and Thomas Griffin of Culpeper, Va.; sons and daughters- in-law, Elliott "Buddy" and Linda Joyner and David Thacker and Lela Joyner and Edward Rawles and Mary Joyner, all of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and sisters, Rachel Joyner, Fletcher Greenwood, Helen Johnson and Bettye Drake. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Jim George officiating. Private burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home for visitation and other times at the home of Buddy and Linda Joyner, 530 Lake Kilby Road, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Western Tidewater Free Clinic, 2019 Meade Parkway, Suffolk, VA 23434. Condolences may be registered at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
