Althea Anna Baumann, 88, of Norfolk died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Heritage of Bel Air.

Althea was born on June 5, 1923, near Madison to Henry and Frieda (Emrich) Scheer Jurgens.

Survivors are: husband, Gordon Baumann of Norfolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Donna Baumann, Terry and Cheryl Baumann, Gordon Jr. and Linda Baumann, all of Norfolk, Michael and Kim Baumann of Pierce, John and Lisa Baumann of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and John Olsufka of Grand Island; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Althea was baptized on June 24, 1923 and confirmed on March 31, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madison.

Althea married Gordon M. Baumann on June 15, 1947, at Grace Lutheran Church.

She then worked as a bookkeeper for Norfolk Auto Supply for eight years and as a Librarian for Westside School.

Althea was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and their Ladies Aide, Lutheran Laymen's League and had served as the Sunday School Secretary for 25 years, and was a past member of Lutheran Women's Guild.

Althea was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ora and Lester Scheer and sister, Leola Carlson.

Interment was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk, NE.
