Adele "Dale" Barthold Kaczynski of Naples, Fla., formerly of Westfield, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2009.

She was born to Charles Barthold and Erna Barthold Sweigert in 1933 in Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Kaczynski graduated from the Germantown Friends School, attended Centenary Junior College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

While working as a flight attendant for TWA, Dale met and married John Kaczynski, a pilot for TWA. They lived on Long Island for several years before moving to Westfield, where they resided for the next 17 years.

While living in Westfield, Dale was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta alumni group, the Pilots' Wives Club and the Westfield Service League, as well as a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

During a winter vacation to Florida, the family discovered Naples and became permanent residents in 1978. Dale was active in the Greater Naples Panhellenic for many years, serving as president for two years. She also was a charter member of the Kappa Alpha Theta alumni group for Naples and Marco Island, Fla. Dale was a member of the vestry at St. John's Episcopal Church in Naples and sang in the choir.

Her husband predeceased her in 1986.

She is survived by her loving children, Pam and Bill Blankenship, John and Rebecca Kaczynski, Charles and Lori Kaczynski and Erna and John Anderson. Her very special grandchildren are Amanda, Heather, Emily, Kayla, Courtney, Christopher and Erika.

A memorial service was held on Monday, October 12, at Bentley Village in Naples, Fla. Dale will be laid to rest beside her husband at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, October 23, at Naples Memorial Gardens in Naples.
