Her parents were John A and Honora Sullivan Keliher or Kelliher, She graduated from Rapid City High School,Rapid City SD and then attended the State Normal School at Spearfish South Dakota where she prepared to become a teacher.
She had a talent for music and was very artistic. She married Charles Hankins on July 19,1911 at her mothers house in Conata Pennington County SD.
The family moved to Alberta Canada where three children were born to them, Wyllo, John and Milo.
In 1940 they returned to the United States and eventually settled in California.
