Frances Keliher "Toni" Franke, age 85, of Little Rock died quietly April 2, 2005 with family at her side after a short battle with cancer. She was born in St. Louis, MO to Lester Joseph Newman Keliher and Hilda Jane Filbert Keliher. She grew up in Dallas and moved to Little Rock where she met her husband, W.J. "Bill" Franke who left her too soon in 1985. She is survived by five children: Carol Horner and husband C. J., Barbara Franke, Bill Franke and wife Carolyn, Bob Franke and wife Cindy, and Chris Franke and wife Sharon. Surviving her are 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stefani Franke; her brother, Lester Keliher, and her sister, Hilda Jane Northrup.



Frances attended Mount Saint Mary's of Little Rock, Hockaday school of Dallas, Randolph Macon in Virginia, the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University. She graduated in 1941.



She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, St. Vincent's Auxiliary, Junior League, Little Rock Yacht Club, Arkansas Art Center Fine Arts Club, a Shepherd Center volunteer, SVI Older Adult Advisory Board, RSVP member, and a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Frances also enjoyed working with the Brownies, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts.



Rosary will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Msg. Malone officiating.



In lieu of flowers, it is Toni's request that in honor of Ashley Franke, a grandchild, all memorials be sent to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 523 Louisiana Street., LR 72201.
