Funeral service for Barbara Namyniuk, 86, of Dickinson, ND will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Father Jim Braaten officiating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home Dickinson, ND.

Barbara passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at St. Luke's Home Dickinson, ND

Barbara Keller was born January 15, 1923 to John J. and Elizabeth (Feinenger) Keller in Dickinson, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Hershville, ND and attended Tabor # 1 Country School. After school Barbara stayed and helped on the family farm for a number of years. During World War II she moved to Washington and worked as a riveter building Airplanes. Following the war Barbara returned home to Dickinson. During this time she worked at the Elks as well as a cook for many years. She later earned her CNA certificate as well. On November 1, 1975 Barbara married Nick Namyinuk and the couple made their home in Dickinson ever since.

Barbara enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles and watching TV. She also enjoyed gardening and canned much of her produce. Barbara was very fond of auction and rummage sales and traveled the country side in search of a bargain.

Barbara is survived by her son Gary (Starla) Dassinger, Dickinson; daughter Cassandra Frederic, Newport, OR; step-daughter, Debbie (Thomas) Hlebechuk, Grassy Butte, ND; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; four sisters; Eva Ehlis, Portland, OR, Frances Calvert, Los Angles, CA, Betty (Bob) Steigler, Los Angles, CA, Amy Zanou, Helena, MT. Gary's best friend and Barbara's adopted son, Dwight Burwick of Dickinson.

She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Nick; four brothers and four sisters.
