KELLY, BETTY LOU April 22, 1929 to July 22, 2011
Betty was born April 22, 1929, in Galesburg, Illinois to Edward and Elizabeth Wyatt.
The family later moved to Clinton, Iowa where Betty attended schools and graduated from Lyons Sr. High School. Betty met and wed the love of her life and best friend, Joseph "Joe" Kelly, at St. Irenaeus Church, Clinton, Iowa on December 29, 1951. They later relocated to Oxnard, CA and then to San Diego, CA where Betty and Joe both worked at NOSC-Pt. Loma for many years until retirement.
Betty is survived by her younger brother John ("Jack") Wyatt, daughters Kathleen Rix and Erin Fox, son Sean Kelly; three grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews, as well as loyal family dog Gypsy.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, her brothers Donald, Harold and Eugene, her son Kevin Kelly, and granddaughter Megan Fox. Betty was a special person that loved her family greatly. She was always there for everyone - family and friends alike. Just a short time before her passing, Betty enjoyed a July 4th celebration with her family and couldn't cuddle her great-grand-babies enough. Betty passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2011. "Gammer" will be greatly missed and always in our hearts.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2766 Navajo Rd., El Cajon, CA 92020, with interment to follow at a later date at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
