Matthew died in the early evening of Sunday, February 7, at Kaiser Hospital (Corte Madera) ...
He was a third generation San Franciscan, the oldest child of the late Matthew D. ("Cy") Ashe and Helen Kelly Ashe. He grew up in the ancestral flats on Sacramento Street, built by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Kelly (both of County Roscommon, Ireland).
Survivors include his devoted wife of 55 years, ... children ... sisters Mary Rita Ashe and Terry Ashe-Croft (New York); nephews ... He was Papa Grande to five grandchildren: ... He also leaves many of his dozens of cousins on both the Kelly and the Ashe sides of the family - Siggins', Reyffs, Ashes, Slaters, and ...
