Robert D. Kelso Died Here Last Saturday After Long Illness --

Robert Donald Kelso, 58, local agent for the Life and Casuality Insurance Company, died Saturday afternoon, April 2, in the Lincoln County Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Elbert E. Walkup, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kelso was a native of Lincoln County and had lived in Fayetteville the greater part of his life. For many years, he had operated a restaurant on North Elk Avenue.

Mr. Kelso was campaign manager in Lincoln County for Estes Kefauver in both of his races for U. S. Senator. He was a past president of the Fayetteville Rotary Club and had been a district steward in the Methodist Church for the past ten years, and a member of the official board for the past 25 years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucille Jarratt Kelso; one daughter, Mrs. E. T. (Bud) Shepard of Shelbyville; a son, Jarratt Kelso of Houston, Texas; his father, F. B. Kelso of Fayetteville; three sisters, Mrs. A. L. Bender of Chattanooga, Miss Frances Kelso of Monroe, Louisiana, and Mrs. H. G. Barnes of Fayetteville; a brother, Benton Kelso of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.
