Ruby Loraine Briggs, 97, passed away in a local nursing home January 12, 2007. Mrs. Briggs was born and lived in Virginia all of her life.
Mrs. Briggs was predeceased by her husband, James Wilbur Briggs; two brothers, Joseph Kennedy and Edward Kennedy and wife Mary; and one sister, Lois Nichols. Mrs. Briggs leaves behind one brother, Alvin L. Kennedy and many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

A funeral will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, at 2 p.m. Sunday with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
