WESTVILLE - Elizabeth (Kennedy) Holland, 96, of Alma, formerly of Westville, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2007, in Valley View Villa, Riverton. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Murray) Kennedy. She resided in Westville until she and her husband Reid moved to Alma in 1964. She was a member of St. Paul United Church, Westville, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years; a graduate of Westville High School; and was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She was also a member of the Hospital Alumni and received her Gold Cap in 1984. Mrs. Holland did private duty nursing until joining the hospital staff as a Supervisor. She retired in 1971. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is survived by nieces, Helen Fulghum; Elizabeth Bayne; nephews, James and Ivan Murray. She was predeceased by her husband, Reid; four sisters: Irene MacIntosh, Jessie Murray, Rachel Carter, and Florence White; and niece Rachel Carswell. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul United Church Choir, the Aberdeen Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of choice.
