BLACK, Mrs. Doris L."Pat" - 92, Stellarton, passed away Friday, August 4, 2006, in Valley View Villa, Riverton, where she had resided since January, 2003. Born May 15, 1914, in Brown's Flats, N.B., she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Foley) Kennedy and resided in Sussex, N.B. until entering the School of Nursing in Fredericton, N.B. in 1934. Pat married in 1940 and moved to Stellarton in 1952 where she became an active member in the community and lived until her move to Valley View Villa. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Black, Malagash; Gail (Arthur) Little, Stellarton; and special daughter, Judy Holman, Halifax; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; brother, Harry Kennedy; and sisters, Marjorie (John) Mulligan, Mollie Kennedy and Susie (Charles) Clinch. Visitation was held on Monday, August 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to Valley View Villa or Victorian Order of Nurses.
