Gillespie (Kennedy), Evelyn “Claire”, age 90, of Dartmouth, passed away on September 5, 2017 in The Magnolia, Enfield. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late Malinda “Linda” (Taylor) and Thomas Kennedy.
Claire was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church where she served on the Board of Managers, Atlantic Mission Society and sang in the choir.
She worked for many years in assisting students at the Nova Scotia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Claire enjoyed spending time with her family and friends (especially her Mon/Wed night groups); as well as working in her flower garden.
She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” ; brother Everett; sister Dorothy.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Thursday September 7 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
The funeral service will take place at 10 am on Friday September 8 in St. Andrew’s Prebyterian Church, 216 School St., Dartmouth, Rev. Dr. P.A. Sandy McDonald officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial in Heatherdale Cemetery, Westville.
