Nial Franklin Keys, Sr.
December 14, 1922 - January 21, 2015

Cumberland, MD - Nial Franklin Keys, Sr., 92, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born December 14, 1922, in Bedford, PA, Mr. Keys was the son of the late James Russell Keys and Amy Margaret (Harris) Keys.
He was also preceded in death by his wife: Irene Olive (Byrd) Keys, August 26, 2004; a son: Nial F. Keys, Jr.; a brother: William Keys; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A United States Army Veteran during World War II, Nial retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He was a member of the Holy Cross-Saint Philips Episcopal Church. Nial was also a member and Past Master of the Potomac Lodge #41 A.F.&A.M., and a charter member of the EAA Chapter #426, Cumberland, MD.
Nial is survived by his son: Rodney Keys and wife, Vivian, LaVale, MD; his grandsons: Jeffrey Keys, Cumberland, MD; and, Michael P. Keys, Cumberland, MD; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 6:00 P.M., to 9:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Monday, January 26, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., with Deacon John Martin officiating.
The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
Nial requested that memorial contributions be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church c/o: Summer Lunchbox Program 16 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD 21502, MD 21502-3712.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all their care and concern, especially Pam, Mary, Misty, T, and Amy.
