Big Stone Gap, VA.- Cora (Tot) Barker, 101, passed away on September 11, 2013 at the Lee Health and Rehab in Pennington Gap, VA.
She was a resident of Big Stone Gap since 1933, a member of the First Baptist Church of Big Stone Gap for over 70 years, serving in many capacities. She taught the women's bible class for 25 years and worked with the young people for a number of years. She held a lifetime membership in the Dogwood Garden Club and was a volunteer worker at the Craft House from its beginning.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 70 years, James L. Barker, Sr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. (Yannie) Killen of Wise, VA; sisters, Marie Geisler and Margaret Fischer; brothers, Aubrey Killen, Ross Killen, and Lynn Killen; grandson, Bobby Barker.
She leaves two sons, James L. Barker, Jr. and wife Doris of Big Stone Gap and Robert (Bob) Barker of Greenwood, SC; a sister, Sue Ann Musick of Vero Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 12:30 on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home in Appalachia Virginia.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 1 PM at the Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap with Dr. Nick Brewer officiating.
