KILROY WAS HERE. Dorthea J. (Kilroy) Carrigan (aka Dot/Nana) passed away at home Monday, April 10, 2017, surrounded by friends and family. She was 94.

Dot was married to the love of her life Joseph R. Carrigan (1919 to 2009) for 67 years. They took great pride in raising their four children in their cozy happy home.

While most of her time was dedicated to being a homemaker, she lived a very fulfilling life pursuing her many interests. She was an independent florist, politically active in her community, a genealogist, poker player, a dedicated Phillies fan, a family talent show winner and budding Tai Chi enthusiast. She was very proud of her family, particularly her Kilroy legacy, that is a notable part of Philadelphia and sports history. This enthusiasm about her family tree led to a love of researching her genealogy, a memorable trip to Ireland and bonding with family, specifically kindred spirit MJ.

She and her husband were founding members of the Oxford Valley Seniors Group. She was dedicated to growing membership, organizing events and actively participating in the club. A favorite event each Wednesday afternoon was playing cards with "the boys" and stealing the pot. She truly appreciated the lifelong friendships she made at this organization.

A steadfast love of the Philadelphia Phillies brought many great moments including a pen pal relationship with famed announcer Chris Wheeler! She never missed a game or an opportunity to have a conversation about the status of the team.

Her greatest joy was to go out gallivanting with her partners in crime Casey & Paul, grandchildren, great grandkids and their close friends. No one liked an adventure like Nana. She was always ready to see something new and meet new people, including starting Tai Chi lessons at 94! Her very obvious zest for life led her to enjoy a good chocolate martini, going out for "a little lunchie" and finding fun and laughter in most things. She looked forward to her family dinners each week at Peg's and Pat's, and morning juice with Charles. In recent years she had wonderful adventures to New York, Boston; and this past year Maryland, visiting with her favorite cousins.

She was the loving mother of Margaret Wagner and her husband, Robert of Levittown, Patricia Litz and her husband, Charles of Croydon, Joseph Carrigan Jr. of Sea Isle and Casey Pane and her husband, Paul of New Hope. She was the prideful Nana to seven grandchildren, Tracy, Stephanie, Susan, Tricia, Margaret, Maureen and Erin Marie; and 10 great grandchildren, Alec, Devan, Jack, Nathan, Andrew, Hannah, Monica, Bridghid, Emily and Morgan. Her extended family and friends will sadly miss her as well.

Family and friends are welcome to call at St Thomas Aquinas Church, Bristol Pike & Walnut Avenue, Croydon from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
