"Dolly" was the firstborn daughter of James Joseph & Delia Bridget Kilroy of Ireland and was preceded in death by brothers James & George and sisters Delores, Mary & Myrtle. She is survived by one sister, Bernice. Irene and her husband George raised their loving children George Jr. and Carol in Chicago, Illinois and later moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to join them.
Irene was a devoted employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Company for almost 35 years. She began as an operator and through hard work became a supervisor. She enjoyed her work and her co-workers immensely.
Dolly's beloved husband George Bell Sr. passed away in 2000 and she is survived by her son George Jr. (Joan) of Scottsdale, Arizona and her daughter Carol Ann Palke of Gilbert, Arizona with whom she lived until her death.
Carol lovingly cared for "Dolly" and her longevity was most certainly due, in part, to the wonderful companionship and care she received from Carol.
Irene will also be deeply missed by five grandchildren, Brian Huffman, Jennifer Slogar (Bell), George Bell III, Michael Bell and Robert Palke and seven precious great-grandchildren; Ryan, Kristen, Marcus, Kayla, Justin, Amanda and Nicole.
They all loved hearing the wonderful stories of her life and sharing her jokes and anecdotes. She was a very special ray of sunshine to her family and a joy to everyone she met.
A very special thanks to Dr. Melvin Bottner and his wonderful nurse Toni for the exceptionally kind and compassionate care they showered on Irene. She loved them.
Irene will be interred with her husband George at Paradise Memorial Gardens at 92nd Street and Shea Blvd. in Scottsdale, Arizona and private memorial services will be held.
