Billie Joyce Aycock, 82, passed away in her home November 8, 2012. Joyce was born May 13, 1930 to John Albert and Della Teague Kimbro in Georgetown, Texas. After Joyce's young mother died from tuberculosis, she was raised at Sunny Glen Children's Home in the Rio Grande Valley. She attended Pharr San Juan Alamo High School. She was beautiful and popular. She was elected All Valley FFA Sweetheart. After graduating she received a scholarship to Abilene Christian College. Before she could attend she met and fell in love with Harold Dwight Aycock. They were married in 1948. In 1949, Joyce and Harold moved to Alice, Texas to begin a new life and start a new business. Joyce lived in Alice the rest of her life.

Joyce was a member of the Morningside Church of Christ, past president of the Alician Club, member of the Alice Study Club, Chairman of all the Aycock Companies and had much enjoyment playing bridge with her friends. Joyce was on the Board of Directors of Sunny Glen Children's Home and in 2006 she and her husband, Harold, funded the Joyce Kimbro Aycock Learning Center at the Sunny Glen Children's Home.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Aycock. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Jimmy) Lewis of Alice; her son, Gene (Jeanette) Aycock of Alice; two sisters, Betty Taylor of Jarrell, Texas and Rosie Roberts of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Andrea Bertagna of Padre Isles, Texas, Amanda (Jim) Huefner of Pensacola, Florida, Jim Lewis of Alice and Travis (Kristen) Lewis of Lubbock, Texas and three great-grandchildren, Avery Bertagna, Nicolas Bertagna and Alivia Huefner.

Visitation will be at Holmgreen Mortuary on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Monday, November 12, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Morningside Church of Christ in Alice. Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sunny Glen Children's Home.
