She was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture at the A.S.C.S. office for twenty years. In 1991 she began working as a private duty caregiver and continued until her health began to fail.
She is survived by four sons, Wayne and Cindy Benge of Kouts

She was preceded in death by parents, a brother, and one granddaughter Laura Benge.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals, and a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery. Pastor Randy Stevens will officiate at the service.
Preferred memorials are to the Epileptic Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
