Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late O'Dell and Agnes Hastings Kitchings. Doris worked for Greenwood Mills and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.
She loved to bake cakes, crochet and enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are daughter, Aimee Gambrell of the home; a sister, Sarah (Sonny) Dotson of Waterloo; a brother, Lester Kitchings of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Warren Berry, Kourtney Berry and Meg Gambrell; two nieces; three nephews; and seventeen great nieces and nephews.
