Following the death of her husband Frank 3 in 1996.She made her home in Spring,Texas with her daughter Naomi and son-in-law Robert Nickens.There she made acquaintance with neighbors and friends and became know as "Grandma".It was not surprising to hear her talking out on the poarch with one of them listening to their problems or giving them a word of encouragement.She always looked for the good in everyone and was somehow able to bring that out in them.
Since she has left us, some of the neighbors say how much they miss seeing her sitting outside or waving at them or hollering "Good Mornin" or "Have a good day".
Grandma loved being around people.She called her families home Grand Central Station because they always have folks in and out.She never failed to make everyone feel welcome and was always ready to cook a pot of beans and a cake of cornbread for them.
Family took her to Lake Charles to gamble to gamble for her 65th birthday.She was very hesitant about the trip because she knew how Grandpa would be put out about "throwing away her money".She ended up having a good time;as soon as they left,she wanted to know when the family was going again.
She brought so much joy to her famlies and friends lives because she was such a giving and loving lady.Everyone of her family and friends were so special to her and she never failed to let them know that.
In loving memory of Billie Jean Ellis age 67 years.She passed away at Houston Northwest Medical Center from a massive heart attack.
