Ruth M (Pranschke) Klingler was born August 1, 1928 in Butte, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick Louis and Louise (Westphalen) Pranschke.

Ruth was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a very artistic floral designer, working first for Zips Florist and then Svendsen Florist, before retiring in 2001. She enjoyed making specialty arrangements for all her childrens' friends and families.

Ruth was an avid collector of dolls and clowns, loved to stay home to watch her favorite TV show, “House”, was known for her beautiful handwriting, was an excellent drawing artist, and enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren. She was known to all the kids in the neighborhood as “Mrs. K” or “Mom”.

She is survived by her children: Linda L. Smith and husband Chuck of Hartselle, AL, Christy L. Klingler of Iron Station, NC, Vicki J. Baker and husband Kenny of Decatur, IL, Cindy S. Durham and fiancé Tom Adcock of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Nicole C. Smith of Hartselle, Alabama, Ty C. Smith and wife Faith of Athens, Alabama, Dr. Seth A. Lipka of Tampa, FL, Sean R. Lipka and Sammie Jo Bright of Decatur, IL, Haley A. Lipka of Decatur, IL, Lacey E. Klingler of Iron Station, NC, Chelsea R. Dickson and fiancé Chad Krekel, of Decatur; step-grandchildren: Nicole M. Horner and husband Tracey of Springfield, IL, Ashley C. Baker-Wright of Chicago, IL; great-grandchildren: Kelsey Cleary and husband Will of Decatur, Gavin R. Krekel of Decatur, Landon R. Lipka of
Decatur, and one great-grandson due in October 2014; step-great-grandchildren: Kaden L. Wright, Kylee M. Wright, both of Chicago, IL; one step-grandson: Jaxson Horner, of Springfield, IL; brothers: Fred Pranschke and wife Dorie, Alvin Pranschke and wife Joan, all of Davenport, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ruth M. “Mrs. K” Klingler, 85, of Decatur, IL, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Lincoln Rehabilitation, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., prior to service time at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Foundation.

Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.
