DOVER TOWNSHIP Eleanor M. Hawkins, 76, died Saturday, September 6, 2014, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Bernard L. Hawkins. Born June 2, 1938 in Lykens, a daughter of the late John H. and Sarah (Swome correction:Womer) Klingler, she was a receptionist with H. & R. Block and a former member of the North York Women's Club. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hawkins is survived by five children, William C. Burdette III and his wife, Karen of Dover, Brian K. Burdette and his wife, Trish of Greensboro, Georgia, Judy L. Konchar and her husband, Frank of Etters, Bradley D. Burdette and his wife, Renee of York and Bruce A. Burdette of Winfield, PA; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three stepchildren, Tina Motway and her husband, Brian of Mount Wolf, Jake Hawkins and his wife, Lisa of York and Tim Hawkins and his wife, Karen of York Haven. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at First Assembly of God, 2270 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, with Pastor Danny Haas officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, Inc., York is handling the arrangements.
