Born May 10, 1921, in Fargo, ND, daughter of Henry and Anna (Lampman) Meis. She came with her parents in 1921 to the town of Guenther, Marathon County.
Married Frank Knapp on May 8, 1948, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton. He died Jan. 6, 2001. She farmed in Guenther most of her life. A longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton.
Survivors include one son, Eugene (Carol), Wausau; three daughters, Delores (Daniel) Brunner, Sun Prairie, Alice (Daniel) Ormes, Stevens Point, and Marie (Kris) Cowling, Omro; one sister, Ann (Meis) Burroughs; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joseph and Henry Meis; and three sisters, Elizabeth Backus, Mary Meis and Katherine Knapp.
