A. Jean Bidle, 77, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Marg. R. Pardee Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Clinton, Iowa, a daughter of the late Daniel "Gobi" Knapp and Mildred Ryan Knapp. She had also resided in Springdale, Arkansas, Canton, Illinois, Peoria, Illinois, and Bloomington, Illinois, prior to moving to the Hendersonville area over 15 years ago. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Knapp and Dan 'Bump' Knapp.

She was employed as a flight attendant with United Airlines, Illinois Agricultural Association and by the State Farm Insurance Companies. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church where she was active in the Women's Guild and the Women's Guild Book Club. She was a member of the Third Wednesday and Fourth Monday Bridge Clubs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry D. Bidle; two daughters, Cris Legner and her husband, Neil, and Jeri Collins and her husband, Lloyd, two sons, Mark Bidle and his wife, Kathy,, and Tim Bidle,; five grandchildren, Sgt. Ryan Legner, USMC, Kyna Legner, Tucker Collins, Tyler Bidle and Ryan Flemming. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Pat Knapp, Joy Knapp,, and Leilani McConnell and her husband, Pat.
