Bernice Irene Beauchamp, 79, Moline, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Rev. Gene Poll, Christ Family Church, Davenport, will officiate. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is one hour before the services.

The former Bernice Irene Knapp was born March 1, 1919, in Rock Island, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Bellinger) Knapp. She graduated from Rock Island High School and Brown's Business College. She married Joseph J. Beauchamp Feb. 25, 1940, in Davenport; he died Nov. 8, 1995. She was a homemaker and also served as bookkeeper for her husband's business, Nationwide Fasteners in Rock Island. She belonged to the Canasta Club for 50 years and loved to write letters.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Bette Jo "B.J." and Robert Flaherty, Taylor Ridge, Jim and Debbie Beauchamp, East Moline, and Pam and Rick Davies, Moline; five grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Dawn Swanson and Rusty and Janie Swanson, all of Rock Island, Kelli Swanson, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Kimberly and Todd Verbeckmoes and Kari and Scott Searl, all of Hillsdale; three great-grandchildren, Brooks, Seth, and Emilee Swanson; a sister-in-law, Lucienne Knapp, Rock Island; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Darlene Beauchamp, East Moline; and many special cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Frank Knapp.
