NATIVE OF GERMANY DEAD ~

FROM FATHERLAND 1883~

SEVER CHILDREN LIVING

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mrs. Pauline Baude, a resident of Streator since 1883, when she came from Germany -
province of Possen - her native home, died this morning at 11 o'clock at the resident
of her daughter, Mrs. J.T. Dickinson, 120 W. Elm street. Her death was due to the
infirmities of age - she was past eighty - she having failed very rapidly since she received
news, about two months ago, of the death in Germany of her son, Hugo, who was named
after his father, who died in the fatherland about thirty-three years ago, several years
before Mrs. Baude and her children came to the United States. It was in 1883 that they
immigrated, coming direct to Streator.
Mother of Fifteen
Mrs. Baude was the mother of fifteen children, of whom there are now living seven -
Mrs. Minnie Paul, Mrs. Hilda Hillenbrand, Mrs. J.T. Dickinson, Otto Braude, Mrs. Martina
Gretchel, Paul Braude and Emil Baude. All are residents of Streator, except Mrs. Paul,
who lives at Hegewiach and Mrs. Gretchel, who is a resident of Wilkesbarre, PA.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon, with services conducted at the house by
Rev. Foelsch of the Luthern church and interment in Riverwood Cemetery.
