J. Kenneth Knappenberger, 65, of 24 Wynnewood Av., Sinking Spring, was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday at 7:10 a.m. in the Reading Hospital.

Born in Bath, a son of the late John J. and Kathryn (Brown) Knappenberger, he was employed as a machinist by Carpenter Technology Corp., retiring last Aug. 31.

He was a member of the Liberty Fire Co., Sinking Spring, and the Carpenter Steel Fellowship Club.

He is survived by his widow Annie C. (Seitzinger) Knappenberger; a son, John K. Jr., Wernersville R.D. 1; a daughter, Joan K., wife of David E. Geary, Livonia, Mich.; three grandsons; a brother, Stewart E., West Lawn, and two sisters, Thelma, wife of Paul Mengel, West Wyomissing, and Kathryn, wife of Carl Priebe, Stony Creek Mills.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Lamm & Wiman Funeral Home, Wernersville, the Rev. Wayne A. Lutz officiating. Burial will be made in Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville.
