She was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Canton, Ill., to Charles W. and Eva M. (McCann) Fitchpatrick. She married LeRoy L. Knox in Farmington on Nov. 7, 1954. He survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael Knox.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Rosie (Mark) Elbus of Kewanee; two sons, Milton (Sharon) Knox of Forest City and Matthew (Rhonda) Knox of Washington; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Karen (James) Zilch of Creve Coeur; and one nephew.
She was a member of Eastside Bible Church in Morton. She played the piano and organ for several area Baptist churches through the years.
Roberta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various sports events. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Eastside Bible Church in Morton. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. also at the church. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Burial will follow in Yates City Cemetery. Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services has assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Children's Hospital of Central Illinois or Eastside Bible Church.
