Eloise Kondratowicz died on January 1, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Eloise was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 30, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Thomas and Emma Owens. Eloise married Joseph Kondratowicz in Columbus, Georgia on September 26, 1942 and was married for 55 years until his death on April 12, 1998. Her son, Robert Kondratowicz, predeceased Eloise on October 18, 1972. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Robert, Susan, Mary, Nell and Albert. Eloise was a kind and gentle woman. She loved NASCAR, the Yankees and her garden,but what she loved most was her family and friends. Eloise is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ninette Kondratowicz; her granddaughter, Susan Kondratowicz; and her dear friend, Jed Ingersoll, who she loved like a son. Eloise is also survived by her sister, Frances Skiroock (Leonard) of Naperville, Illinois; and her brother, Arthur Owens of Glencoe, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
