Jacqueline A. Snyder, age 83 of Le Sueur, MN, formerly of International Falls, MN, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur, MN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. at Word of Life Brethren Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 10:05 a.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
Jackie was born on November 7, 1931 to Daniel & Lillian (Olafson) LaBelle in International Falls. She lived in International Falls until about the age of 7 before her family moved to Minneapolis, Chicago, and then to Cornell, Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school. The family later relocated to Le Sueur. She married Norbert Snyder on August 26, 1951 in Le Sueur. The couple resided in Le Sueur for many years. Jackie later graduated from Mankato State University with a teaching degree. She taught at the Le Sueur Nursery School for many years and later taught Special Education and Gift/Talented at Park Elementary School. During her 40+ years with the Le Sueur Schools, Jackie greatly contributed to changing and improving, as well as shaping new curriculum for the school district. She enjoyed being a Hockey Mom & Grandma and rarely missed a Gopher Hockey game. A favorite pastime was singing in the mixed quartet called the “Uncalled Four”. In her early years, she enjoyed golf and playing bridge. Jackie was a long-time volunteer at the elementary school in International Falls, MN for many years and was fondly known as “Grandma Jackie” to countless students, parents, and faculty. She was an active member in the Evangelical Covenant Church in International Falls, where she taught Sunday / Bible School and served on numerous trips to Honduras. Jackie never passed up an opportunity and often went out of her way to broaden other people’s horizon. Her heaven on earth was the time she spent on Rainy Lake. She shared her passion and love of Rainy Lake to everyone that knew her.
She is survived by her children; Jeanne Schoeppner of Le Sueur; son, Jeff (Kris) Snyder of International Falls; Grandchildren;, Matt (Katie) Schoeppner, Melissa (Nick) Meger, and Landan, Blake, and Lauren Snyder, Jamie Snyder, Naomi Snyder, and Jacqueline Snyder. Great-Grandchildren; Emeri, Elsie, and Elena Meger; Beck and Ebba Schoeppner; Timothy and Michael Friedrichsen. Siblings; Daniel LaBelle of Le Sueur, Renee (Robert) Horn of Eyota, MN, Jeanette (Charles) Blevins of Eyota, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norbert in 2008; son, John; sister-in-law, Rita LaBelle; and niece, Terri Vrieze.
