FLORINE G. BARGAS 86, died in the comfort of her home in San Leandro, CA, December 18, 2003, where she lived for 37 years. She was born in Armstrong, Iowa to John and Gertrude Laffey in 1917 and resided in California for the majority of her life. Florine was loved and will be missed by her daughter, Connie Chapman and husband, Barney, son, Gary Thomas, twin sister, Faye Mountain, nephew and nieces, Bill and Sally Pritchard, Bobby Laffey, Janet Winter, Marlene Hopper, her long time companion, Ray Falkenberg, granddaughter, step-children, great grandchildren and her many friends. Florine possessed the wonderful sense of humor the "Irish" are known for and a friendliness experienced by everyone that came in contact with her. All will remember her flair for style, beaming smile and the sound of her laughter. One of her finest qualities was compassion and generosity for others who were less fortunate, which she quietly practiced as she went about her daily life. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 27, 11:30 a.m. at Santos-Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Ave., San Leandro, CA.
