Grayce A. (Flynn) Laffey, age 95, passed away peacefully at the Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Weymouth, Thursday, April 10, 2014. Grayce was the wife of the late John J. Laffey and is survived by her 3 children, Paul L. Laffey of S. Weymouth, Maryann Magoun and her husband Peter of Dunbarton, N.H., and Jane Cartier and her husband Mark of West Bridgewater. She was the devoted Nana of Eric Cartier of Adelphi, Md., and Christopher Cartier of West Bridgewater. She was also the loving aunt of Jeff Cronin of Cambridge and Laurence Cronin of Chadds Ford, Pa. Grayce was the sister of the late Rita Cronin, Leo Flynn and Regina Finley. Grayce was born and lived in Jamaica Plain until 1955, when she moved to South Weymouth. She was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan and really enjoyed attending the monthly performances of the swing band The Old Kids on the Block at the Whipple Senior Center in Weymouth. The funeral will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.), S. Weymouth, Tuesday, April 15, at 8:30 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St., S. Weymouth, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline. Donations may be made in Grayces memory to the Whipple Senior Center, 182 Green St., Weymouth, MA 02191.
