Georgiana L. Bates, 84, formerly of Louisville, died Tuesday in Chesapeake, Va. She was the former Georgiana Langtry, a native of New Albany, Ind., a retired employee of the old Stewart's Dry Goods Co. and a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church. Survivors: three daughters, Marilyn J. Sarko of Chesapeake, Patsy R. Hissong of Alexandria, Va., and Janet A. Roessler; a son, J. C. Bates; 10 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, Arch L. Heady Hikes Point Funeral Home, 4109 Taylorsville Road. Burial: Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. Visitation: 2-9 p.m. Thursday.
