Myrtle Elizabeth Lankford Dudley, 71, of 856 Doss Road, Concord, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998 at Lynchburg General Hospital. For 51 years, she was the wife of Roy Lee Dudley Jr. Born in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth Pugh Lankford. She was a retired employee of Joan and Jay Company of Lynchburg and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Concord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William, Robert and Murrell Lankford. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Linda D. Lee and her husband, Kurtis of Naperville, Ill., Sandra D. Hall and her husband, Randy of Evington and Margaret Ann Dudley of Concord; two grandsons, Brian S. Lee and his wife, Teresa of West Chicago, Ill. and Joshua Lee Hall of Evington; stepgrandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer Hall of Evington and Charles B. Lee of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; a great-grandson, Jacob Daniel Lee of West Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Lillian L. Lawson of Baltimore, Md., Rosa L. Logwood, Barbara L. Crawley and Marie L. Wade; one brother, Herbert T. Lankford all of Lynchburg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Concord Cemetery by the Rev. Bart Weakley. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad.
