She was born January 17, 1915 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to John A. and Effie Rolph Larsen.
She married Horace Michael Andrews on May 31, 1939 in the Manti LDS Temple. Vanetta received her education at Mount Pleasant, Snow College, and Brigham Young University. She taught school in Mount Pleasant before she was married and taught the first years of marriage. She, along with her family, has lived in Las Cruces and Alamagordo, New Mexico; Monticello, Morgan, Cedar City, and Richfield, Utah.
She has served in many teaching and leadership positions in the LDS Church as well as civic positions. She also served an LDS Mission to the Northwest States. She was a member of the Richfield Culture Club and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Vanetta loved reading, crocheting, and quilting. She and her husband have traveled extensively at home and abroad.
She is survived by her husband, Horace, Richfield; children, Marian (Eric) Gardner, Salt Lake City; Dixie (Scott) Hassett, Murray; Don (Lorilie) Andrews, Monticello; and Tammy (Kirt) Nilsson, Monroe; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Ray Pini, AZ. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Pini; grand-daughter, Tony Ray Pini; parents; sisters, Beth (LaVar) Ames and Thelma (Eddie) Wingar.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield. Friends may call at Magleby Mortuary on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
