Venus F. Ramsey Barrett, 83, formerly of Havana and Bath, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Home in Cuba, where she was a resident.

Born to Frank B. and Sarah Louise Turner Lascelles, Venus married Warren "Russell" Ramsey on June 28, 1936. She later married Jesse H. Barrett on Oct. 11, 1940. He died May 18, 1969.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Russell "Duane" Ramsey; one daughter, Donna Ramsey Graham; two grandchildren; six brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Jesse Barrett of Meredosia and Edward Barrett of Walshville; one daughter, Patricia Baker of Lewistown; two brothers, Melvin Lascelles and Lyle Lascelles, both of Havana; one sister, Mrs. Ancil (Wanda) Blodgett of Havana; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-greatgrandchildren.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Havana.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
