Sarah Rebecca Laudig was born in Germantown, Ohio October 11, 1835, her parents Jacob and Katherine Laudig coming to Indiana after her birth.
After a short residence in Fortville the family moved to what is still known to many as the Laudig homestead south of Tipton. Her father Jacob Laudig was a pioneer furniture maker and carried on that trade in connection with farming.
Sarah Rebecca Laudig married Henry Imboden September 2, 1856 in Wayne County, Indiana. They were married for eight years when he entered the Civil War in 1864 a private for one year. They had seven known children in 22 years. Sarah died at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 13 days at the home of her daughter Carrie in Shirley, Henry, Indiana.
