Doris K. Fred, 86, 400 N. Seventh St., died April 14, 2002, at the Alexandria Care Center.
Born Nov. 10, 1915, in Elwood, she was the daughter of Richard L. and Mable (Hall) Leakey.
She married Paul N. Fred. He died Nov. 10, 1986.
She was a member of East Main Street Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Britton of Alexandria; a daughter-in-law, Mary Fred of Elwood; a brother, Charles Leakey of Elwood; four grandchildren, Carol Fred Brewer of Elwood, Marty Courtney of Alexandria, James Fred and Robert Fred, both of Elwood; and five great-grandchildren, Jesse Courtney, Taylor Courtney, Ciera Fred, Bradlee Brewer and Hope Fred.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Richard N. Fred who died Sept. 6, 1982; and three sisters, Carolyn Jarvis, Helen Snyder and Mary Bartlett.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dunnichay Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow the visitation at the Elwood City Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating.
